Review by customers.

From cuisine to the healing arts, beautiful things happen when East meets West. This is especially true at Tibet Shop, a Tibetan arts and gifts boutique in the heart of Washington, D.C. Stocked with an extraordinary array of authentic merchandise, like embroidered bags and gorgeous silk shawls, this Adams Morgan boutique is a cultural experience on its own. No offering sets Tibet Shop above the other ethnic 18th Street boutiques more than its stunning collection of handmade beaded jewelry—after browsing an entire wall of delightfully original earrings priced from $12 to $30, you’ll have plenty of cash left over to splurge on a gorgeous sterling and stone ring, or more than a few necklaces in nearly every combination of colors and size. Tibet Shop features heavy turquoise stones and beautiful corals, often accompanied by matching bracelets and earrings, in addition to a fabulous assortment of loose beads in every shade of the rainbow—many of them painted with intricate detail. The perfect place to score an affordable yet unique gift for any earthy jewelry lover, Tibet Shop is most certainly out of this world.

 Review for Tibet Shop
Palden Gyal, award winning Tibetan journalist and photographer, opened up the Tibet Shop 4 months ago in Adams Morgan. His amazing photographs are on display and for sale from his trip to Tibet in 2006- the first time he was able to get permission from the Chinese government to visit his homeland in 18 years.

In addition to his photographs, his shop has gorgeous necklaces made by his wife using Tibetan beads and stones, beautiful bags from Nepal, inspiritional posters and calendars with quotes from the Dalai Lama, and many other items from Tibet and it 's neighboring countries. If you don 't come out of that store with anything in your hands, you 'll still leave feeling a little more cultured.
